Evident Operations is built around the idea that a good system should make sense to the people using it. Its purpose should be clear, and people should be able to understand how it works without adding unnecessary mental load.
We focus on creating systems that are easily understood, increase visibility, and function logically. We use this approach holistically to evaluate how your business runs today, find where things are slowing down, and how your systems can be improved without adding unnecessary complexity.
We primarily work with lean teams, early-stage and pre-scale businesses, solo founders, and entrepreneurs. Many do not need a full-time COO or IT team. They may have one person carrying several roles, knowledge that lives with a single team member, or processes that have become difficult to manage as the business grows.
Our work is designed to fit the business as it exists. Sometimes that means improving an existing tool. In other cases, a new workflow makes more sense. A basic spreadsheet can be a perfectly good solution when people know how to use it, and it supports the work they need to do.

How We Work
A system can make perfect sense when it is being designed and still become a problem once a team has to use it every day. This is particularly important for small teams, where one person may already be responsible for several areas of the business.
Some business operations consultants come from large corporate environments. They may have experience with substantial budgets and dedicated teams supporting the workflows they create. That experience can be valuable, but approaches developed for larger organizations do not always translate well to lean businesses.
We take a bottom-up approach because we have experience being the people who actually use the systems we build. We pay attention to the small points of friction that can make a process harder than it needs to be. If a system requires too many steps, takes too much time to maintain, or does not fit how someone works, there is a good chance it will eventually be abandoned.
The same applies to technology. A newer or more specialized tool is not automatically an improvement. Sometimes the better choice is to clean up what a team already has and make it easier to use.
Evident Operations was founded by Leanne, a Silicon Valley native who has spent much of her career working within lean teams. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in philosophy, an academic background that continues to influence how she approaches complex operational problems. It taught her to break down complicated subjects, examine how individual parts fit together, and question and look for the assumptions that shape how a process works.
Leanne spent more than five years in the United Kingdom, where she completed a master’s degree in Legal and Political Theory at University College London and worked as an executive assistant for a luxury retail company. In that role, she designed a physical inventory storage system and created a fabric inventory lookup tool. She also developed process guides and communication templates. Another project involved implementing an automated messaging tool to help the sales team reach prospective clients. Leanne then developed a way to measure its ROI, giving the company information it could use when deciding whether to invest further in the tool.
In her most recent role, Leanne worked as an executive assistant supporting a team responsible for investing a multi-billion-dollar university endowment. Part of her role involved tracking flight credits created when travel was changed or cancelled. There was no formalized system for managing them, so Leanne created one. During her first year, it helped track more than $40,000 in flight credits that could otherwise have gone unused. She built a travel status dashboard, automated an audit of internal contact lists that sync with the CEO’s phone, and contributed sections to a comprehensive guide documenting her responsibilities and processes.
Leanne has also worked with nonprofit organizations in both paid and unpaid roles. That experience has given her a practical understanding of what it means to work with limited budgets and resources. Not every business needs specialized software. There are often useful improvements that can be made with tools a team already has.
